Our Mission
GridEquity is a community-responsive 501(c)(3) that addresses environmental and energy justice issues through bottom-up, grassroots support for individuals, nonprofits, and communities. We provide technical assistance, policy analysis, grant writing, and program support rooted in justice frameworks, combining clean, renewable energy and climate adaptation solutions to meet both immediate and long-term community needs.

GridEquity envisions a future where communities have the power, evidence-based information, and voice to participate meaningfully in the energy and environmental decisions that affect their daily lives. By providing technical assistance, policy analysis, and research support, we help communities understand both intended benefits and potential unintended consequences of policies at every level – from local governments to federal agencies to international bodies.
We help communities distinguish between genuine solutions and false promises, ensuring that energy policies actually benefit the people who need it most while addressing legacy pollution and limiting negative impacts from new energy systems. Through science-backed analysis and evidence-based technical support, we help communities navigate complex decisions and participate from a position of knowledge and strength. We stand with grassroots voices by providing the technical expertise and data analysis that ensures their lived experience and concerns are backed by rigorous research in every room where decisions get made.
